First of all, I was giddy to receive this Bible because I have never owned a genuine leather Bible. It is exquisite. The leather feels very nice and the page edges are gold. I was surprised to see that it has a thumb index for an easy way to find the books of the Bible. It also includes THREE ribbon bookmarks…this is such a bonus for me because I always mark many pages in my Bibles!
This Bible has several unique features that I love. Throughout the book you will find something called “Kingdom Dynamics”…these are articles that are “key elements of a life of a growing, devoted disciple in God’s kingdom.” I have found these to be very helpful and interesting as I’ve studied through this Bible. They cover 33 themes and 7 in depth articles.
There are also entries called “Word Wealth”. This is my favorite of the special features. These Word Wealth listings give the English spellings of the original Greek and Hebrew words, along with helpful insight into the derivation, as well as the Strong’s Concordance numerical listing for each word. These are extremely beneficial to studying the word as they help you to understand the context in the original language. I have wanted a Bible with this feature for a long time and I know that I will often refer to the Word Wealth sections when studying the Bible. There is also a Word Wealth index that includes all of the words that are defined and where to find them.
Another lovely feature of this Bible is the “Praying the Word” sections. Throughout the books, there are prayers that are adapted from verses in the Bible. It is a great way to learn how to pray the scriptures and I love this feature.
There are also charts at the end of each book of the Bible called “Truth in Action”. These give truths that are contained in the books and the actions that we can take to apply the truths to our own lives. This is such an important feature as application can sometimes be difficult, especially when reading some of the “more confusing” books. I will be referring to this feature often as well.
Throughout the Bible, you will find full color maps and charts that go along with the scriptures. There are also footnotes for some of the verses. The books all have introductions with outlines as well as an article on how the Holy Spirit is at work in that book. The words of Jesus are also in red.
There are several helpful articles at the end of the Bible as well as a concordance and full colored maps.
Overall, this is an excellent study Bible. I love all of the special features and can’t think of anything negative to say about it. I highly recommend this one!
I received this Bible from the publisher to review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
