Shaken by Tim Tebow Review

Description: First, he was a beloved college football champion, Heisman trophy winner, media sensation, and best-selling author drafted in the first round of the 2010 Draft. Then he had a miracle playoff run with the Denver Broncos before being traded to the New York Jets. After one season he was cut by New York. Next he was signed by the New England Patriots then let go after training camp—a scenario that repeated itself the following summer with the Philadelphia Eagles. Tim Tebow has achieved big victories and plunged the depths of failure, all while never letting go of his faith, even in the face of doubt and disappointment. In Shaken he explains why neither the highs nor the lows of his life can define him—and he reveals how you, too, can find confidence in your identity and know who you are. In revealing passages, Tebow pulls back the curtain on his life, sharing the vulnerable moments of his career that have shaken him to his core—while also teaching the biblical principles that will enable you to keep the faith, no matter what comes your way.

My Thoughts: I have never been a fan of football, despite living in “Steeler Country” and having a husband who bleeds black and gold. That being said, Tim Tebow was one football player that I took notice of right away. He came onto the scene outspoken about his faith and was taunted and criticized for it at every turn. I was a bit wary at first (as I often am when people state that they are Christians) because fame and the enemy can really destroy their testimony, but Tim stood firm in his beliefs and showed over time that he is a man of integrity who puts Christ above ALL else.

This book talks about his career in football, his rejections, but also the many ways he’s served the Lord. I was very inspired by his story and I can see that God is using him in a great way. The end of the book has an invitation for salvation and I pray that many people will come to Christ through this.

The stories are told in a very interesting way, and it read very quickly. This would make a great gift for teenage boys and men as it talks a lot about sports but also delves into much more.

Tim is a great example of being a light in the darkness and I would highly recommend this book.

My Rating: 5 stars

I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
